Dylan Balfour
Researcher
Dylan is pursuing a PhD in philosophy at the University of Edinburgh, where he works in global priorities research. He has written on ethics and longtermism, and has received a global priorities fellowship from the Forethought Foundation.

Itamar Shatz
Executive Director
Itamar’s writing about applied psychology and philosophy has been read by millions of people, and linked from places like The NY Times and TechCrunch. He has a PhD from Cambridge University, where he is an affiliated lecturer and teaches quantitative and computational research methods.

Rockwell Schwartz
Advisor & Groups Lead
Rocky has spent over a decade in social impact, including nonprofit leadership, capacity-building, and philanthropic advising. She has helped grow several small nonprofits and funds, and most recently directed a regional nonprofit helping people align their careers, time, and donations with impact.

Thane Fowler
Operations Manager
Thane studied Psychology and Queer Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has since held a variety of positions in the US, Botswana, and Mexico. Before joining Probably Good he worked in administration and program coordination in the education sector.

Anna Christina Thorsheim
Anna Christina is co-founder and Executive Director of Family Empowerment Media (FEM), a nonprofit working to close information gaps related to contraceptives in Sub-Saharan Africa. Before starting FEM, she co-founded a health-tech startup developing VR-based phobia treatment and worked as Head of PR at a startup incubator for for-profits aiming to achieve SDGs. She studied Industrial Economics and Technology Management at NTNU.

Omer Nevo
Co-founder and former CEO of Probably good, Omer is co-founder and CTO of Pattern Labs, a firm dedicated to protecting AI and other advanced technology from theft and misuse. He previously led research efforts at Google to predict and detect wildfires. Before Google, he co-founded and served as the CEO of Neowize, a YC-backed startup, which was acquired by Oddity. He is also a co-founder and head of the board at Effective Altruism Israel.

Sella Nevo
Co-founder and former Head of Research of Probably Good, Sella is Head of the Meselson Center at the RAND Corporation, dedicated to reducing risks from biological threats and emerging technologies. He previously led the Karmel group at Google, using machine learning to tackle global humanitarian problems, resulting in work such as the Google Flood Forecasting Initiative. He is also a Venture Partner at Firstime VC advising on impact-driven investments and is on the advisory board of ALLFED.

Joey Savoie
Joey is the co-founder of Charity Entrepreneurship – a research and training program that incubates high-impact charities. Previously, Joey co-founded Charity Science, a meta-organization increasing the amount of counterfactual funding going to high impact charities, and Charity Science Health, a nonprofit that increases vaccination rates in India using mobile phones and behavioural nudges.

Julia Wise
Julia serves as a contact person for the effective altruism community and helps local and online groups support their members. She served on the board of GiveWell from 2015-2024 and was president of Giving What We Can from 2017-2020. She writes about effective altruism at Giving Gladly.

Michelle Hutchinson
Michelle holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Oxford, where her thesis was on global priorities research. While completing that, she did the operational set-up of the Centre for Effective Altruism and then became Executive Director of Giving What We Can. She is currently the Director of the One-on-one Programme at 80,000 Hours.
